    Extracto de cúrcuma es el extracto del rizoma seco de la cúrcuma, familia Zingiberaceae, las principales sustancias bioactivas son la curcumina (curcumina) y la turmerona. Tiene efectos hipoten, hipolipidémicos, colereticos, antibacteri, antiinflam, y antioxidantes. La curcumina es un pigmento esencial compuesto que impide la auto-oxiddel ácido linoleico en los alimentos y se ha utilizado como un color natural de alta calidad de los alimentos.

    The Chemico-Biological Interactions Journal published an article discussing the role of curcumin in alleviating oxidative stress in a rat model of hyperthyroidism. Rats were orally administered curcumin and vitamin E for 30 consecutive days.The results showed that curcumin affected different stages of mitochondrial respiration and protected against oxidative stress induced by hyperthyroidism.

    Reduces Irritable Bowel Syndrome

    Turmeric extract supplements are effective in treating various digestive disorders such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and peptic ulcers. In a clinical trial, people with irritable bowel syndrome were treated with one to two tablets of standardised turmeric extract for eight weeks.

     

    A 53 percent and 60 percent reduction in IBS symptoms was observed in the 1-tablet and 2-tablet groups, respectively, while abdominal pain was reduced by 22 percent and 25 percent in the 1-tablet and 2-tablet groups, respectively. About two-thirds of the study participants showed improvement in irritable bowel syndrome symptoms after turmeric treatment. Supplementing with turmeric for 8 weeks reduced irritable bowel syndrome symptoms and improved digestive health. Supplementing with curcumin may also improve brain chemicals and reduce anxiety and depression symptoms in people with irritable bowel syndrome.

     

    Cancer Prevention

    Curcumin can regulate dozens of targets such as inflammatory factors, tumour metastatic factors, growth factors, protein kinases, oncoproteins, etc., to reverse the tumour process, thus reducing the tumour marker, carcinoembryonic antigen in the blood. It also reduces the side effects of chemotherapy for malignant tumours and reduces the number of intestinal polyps in people susceptible to bowel cancer, thus having a special effect on the treatment and recovery from bowel, stomach and breast cancers.

     

    Blocking the HIV Response

    Curcumin has antiviral activity and inhibits HIV primarily through inhibition of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) long terminal repeat sequence (HIV LTR) activity, inhibition of viral replication-associated proteases (PR) and integrases (IN), and inhibition of histone acetyltransferase (HAT) acetylation of HIV histones and trans-acting factors (tat).

    Turmeric extract in food is mainly used in food coloring and preservation. Curcumin is a plant polyphenolic compound with strong antioxidant and preservative properties. Modern research has found that microcapsules, electrostatic spinning, nano-complexes, and colloids containing curcumin can maintain their antimicrobial and antioxidant properties and extend the shelf life of food. Curcumin is a natural pigment specified for use in the National Standard for Food Safety, Standard for the Use of Food Additives (GB 2760-2014), and is widely used in the food industry.
